What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, phone, or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work properly, work more efficiently, and to provide information to website owners.

Cookies can be "first-party" (set by us directly) or "third-party" (set by a third-party service we use). They can also be "session cookies" which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent cookies" which remain on your device for a set period of time.

In addition to cookies, we may also use similar tracking technologies such as web beacons, pixels, and local storage. This policy covers all such technologies collectively.

02

What Cookies Do We Use?

ViralSight uses the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function. They cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take such as logging in or setting preferences.

Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferences and settings.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our Services, which pages are most popular, and how we can improve the experience. The information collected is aggregated and anonymous.

Note: ViralSight does not currently use any third-party analytics platforms such as Google Analytics. Basic usage data is collected through our infrastructure providers (Vercel and Supabase) for operational purposes only.

Advertising & Targeting Cookies

We may use cookies to deliver advertising relevant to your interests and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. These may be set by our advertising partners.

Note: ViralSight does not currently run paid advertising campaigns. If this changes, we will update this policy accordingly.
03

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on ViralSight are set by third-party services we use to operate the platform. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies which we encourage you to review:

We do not have control over third-party cookies. Please refer to each third party's privacy policy for more information about their cookie practices.

04

How Long Do Cookies Last?

Cookies on ViralSight fall into two duration categories:

The specific duration of each cookie is listed in the tables in Section 2 above.

05

How to Control Cookies

You have several options for controlling cookies:

Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these in the "Privacy," "Security," or "Settings" menu of your browser. You can choose to:

Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may affect your ability to use ViralSight. In particular, blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from staying logged in to your account.

For guidance on managing cookies in specific browsers:

Local Storage

Some data on ViralSight is stored in your browser's localStorage rather than as traditional cookies. You can clear this data by clearing your browser's site data or cache. Note that doing so will delete your local analysis history and reset your usage tracking.

Opt Out of Targeted Advertising

If we use advertising cookies in the future, you will be able to opt out through the following industry opt-out tools:

06

Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. Because there is currently no uniform standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals, ViralSight does not currently respond to DNT browser signals.

If a standard is adopted in the future, we will update this policy to reflect our compliance.

07

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. Your continued use of ViralSight after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
